Third Sector Foresight: scan the external environment

Third Sector Foresight, with the Performance Hub, is developing a guide to help VCOs to both scan the external environment and think about the impact of external trends for their own organisations. This may be a publication, or a interactive web based guide, or both! Our starting point for the development of such a guide is the impact assessment tool which was included in the latest edition of Voluntary Sector Strategic Analysis, our annual analysis of the operating environment and strategic drivers for VCOs. We are looking for organisations which have either used the impact assessment tool, or who have at least looked at it and thought about whether it would be useful, to help us develop the guide. This will involve attending a focus group on 9th October from 1 - 4pm and then commenting on drafts of the guide as it develops. Lunch will be provided at the focus group and we will reimburse travel expenses. The guide is particularly aimed at those who are new to environmental analysis, or who feel that they could do it better. It will cover a broad range of skills, from information searching, through to engaging staff.
